This is an incomplete Apocryphal text that gives a rather different view of Mary Magdalene. Here, she is seen as a key disciple, who understood the teaching of Christ even more than the men did. It's interesting that in 1969 the Catholic Church dropped the idea that she had been a prostitute. This is not actually in the Gospels, but grew up as a myth over time. There may even have been a desire to sideline her role in the Story of Christ so as to keep women in their place. Here is a reading of the short and incomplete text. And after is a documentary from the BBC.
