Coca Cola reveals truth about Santa's missing wink in this year's Christmas ad
Santa has never actually winked in one of Coca Cola's famous Christmas ads.
It's hard to believe, we know. We – like hundreds, if not thousands of others – were convinced that the animated Father Christmas on the back of a branded lorry gave that little boy a cheeky wink.
People thought it happened at the end of the advert, as that much-adored, festive red truck rolled away into the distance. But it's an "urban myth", Coca Cola told us.
Mirror Online contacted Coca Cola GB to ask why (WHY?!) the company decide to take the wink away. The response alarmed us.
"We’re delighted to see so many people were watching closely when the Holidays Are Coming ad returned to screens on Saturday night," said a spokeswoman.
"The ad has been on screens for 21 years, but we have to admit that Santa has actually never winked at the end of the commercial."
